Initial D: Extreme Stage is the next installment of car races based on manga by Shuichi Shigeno. Before the title was released on the PS3 console, it had previously appeared on coin-op machines. In the 'home' edition we received a few additional elements - among others, the possibility of playing online.
I think the game still belongs in the 'Ingame' category, instead of the 'Playable' category. The physics are really wonky still. You can see in your video how the car has a seizure whenever you are drifting or touch a wall. It's hard to drive well at all with the physics glitches, which send you careening into the guardrails. Also, the sound is extremely distorted, and there are graphical glitches all over the place (the most glaring one being the giant map that covers the screen, instead of being framed in just the bottom left). You can play it in the same way that you can play many of the games in the 'Ingame' category right now - with frustration until the emulator is worked on a bit more.
There was this PC game I bought years ago, I think it might have been Initial D: Mountain Vengeance. I remember I was so excited to listen to those famous eurobeat tracks while drifting on the downhill.Well something went wrong in the install (or my requirements were wrong) and the cars would only chug along like snails. The car would clip forward every two seconds. After 15 minutes I made it to my first curve. Then, with a sadness I'd never known and have never experienced since, I uninstalled the game.
